Top, Body, and Neck

The fine texture of kauri adds a shimmering effect enhancing the visual appeal of this instrument. This wood variety strength and durability, thus making the MK-B well-suited for repeated use. Kauri offers crystal-clear tones with enhanced sustain and excellent note separation. The neck of the ukulele is made from mahogany, which displays a strong midrange character. As a result, this instrument produces a clean and focused sound given mahogany absorbs string vibrations. If you specialize in the blues genre, this instrument serves as your best friend.

Laurel Fretboard

The Laurel construction of the ukulele’s fretboard translates into accommodation of a whole gamut of tones. This tonewood variety features oily pores that absorb stray overtones, delivering a crisp sound with high fidelity. These fundamental-rich sounds are characterized by sparkling treble notes, deep lows, and a scooped midrange. The arrangement of frets on this ukulele facilitates smooth chord tuning and suits the demands of any playing style, be it fingerpicking, flatpicking, or strumming.

Saddle and Strings

The nut and saddle of the Kala Makala MK-B Baritone Ukulele are constructed from plastic for durability, as the material is resistant to climatic changes. The plastic saddle delivers warm tones with decent clarity. Plastic absorbs vibrations from the strings to generate a smooth sound. This ukulele is equipped with Aquila’s Supernylgut strings to give a boost to your musical performance. The sleek feel of this material offers you a comfortable playing experience. Supernylgut maintains the intonation of the ukulele despite repeated use.
